Happy Birthday, Mom!!!  Her birthday was on the 22nd, and we started off the day by doing a birthday hike up Moosilauke with John (Myers).  We started hiking at 5:30 am to avoid the incoming snowstorm expected later in the day.

The trail was nice and packed out the whole way up, with very minor drifts near the top of Moosilauke.

The first part of Gorge Brook is pretty steep, but it gets more moderate as you continue.

Sage and Mom illuminated by my headlamp and by the light emanating from the early morning sky:

It was pretty cloudy, but the snow on the trees and the dark blue shapes in the fog were mystifying sights.

Perfect little snowy path:

There's the summit!

Happy Birthday, Mom!

A Pano of the top:

John brought cupcakes and we enjoyed them off the summit and out of the wind.  Thanks, John!

Snowy blonde hair...

We had a great day!
